Benefits of Trees - part 1
Trees absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, storing much of this carbon in their leaves and releasing oxygen, thereby reducing pollution by 50%. In autumn, the leaves fall and the carbon is naturally absorbed into the soil.
Trees also help reduce flood risks by consuming large amounts of water. A healthy 100-foot tree with 200,000 leaves can absorb 11,000 gallons of water during a growing season, releasing it into the air as water vapor and oxygen.
